Kyle Larson isn’t officially part of the “Coca-Cola Racing Family” of NASCAR drivers, at least not yet. But he’ll have the soft drink’s support this weekend.

Larson will kick off his first Chase for the Sprint Cup with Coca-Cola as the primary sponsor on his No. 42 Chevrolet.

This will be the second time in three races Coke has been a primary sponsor on a car. It also sponsored Tony Stewart with a throwback paint scheme in the Southern 500.

Larson enters the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400 with top-three finishes in his last three races, including his first Sprint Cup win at Michigan. He finished second last weekend at Richmond in the regular season finale.

“Our finishes the past three races are the best ever over a three-race span for (me at Chip Ganassi Racing), so we’re looking to continue the momentum as the Chase starts,” Larson said in a press release. “We’ll be in a Coke Chevy to kick off the Chase and in addition to savoring the moment of that first race, we’ll be looking for a strong run. We’ve had some really good races the past two seasons at Chicagoland, so it’s definitely a good place for us to start. We’ll continue to be aggressive and race smart as we look to advance out of the first round.”

At Chicagoland Speedway, Larson has top-10 finishes in both of his first two starts at the 1.5-mile track. He finished third in 2014.
