Brian Scott wrecked after contact from Tony Stewart on Lap 203 of Sunday’s Southern 500 and they didn’t have the same view of the incident.
Said Scott: “I was trying to let Tony (Stewart) go there, and I think he got inside of me and got loose there. I was pointing him to the inside to let him go. Apparently, he got mad at me … I have a lot of respect for Tony. He has always raced me really clean. I am not sure what he thought was going on there.”
Said Stewart: “We were like 40 laps into a run. We were on old tires and sliding around, and I got underneath him in Turn 2 and for some reason, he ran us through there, and I got really loose and was still getting it gathered it up and got him in the left rear and wrecked him and surprised it didn’t wreck us too.’’
NASCAR America analysts Brian Vickers and Parker Kligerman examined the incident.
