Watch Bristol transform from racetrack to football stadium live on cam

Just over a week ago, Bristol Motor Speedway was a racetrack.

Today, the infield of the .533-mile bullring has been near-magically transformed into a football field in preparation for the Sept. 10 “Battle At Bristol” college football game between rivals Virginia Tech and Tennessee.

The field has been installed, complete with yard line markers and hash marks, while workers are making other preparation for what is expected to draw the largest crowd in college football history.

BMS officials, along with EarthCam, have partnered to create a streaming website called BristolConstructionCam that will give fans a view of the track’s transformation.

“For the biggest game in college football history, we knew we needed to do something big for our fans,” said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager at Bristol Motor Speedway. “We know that our guests are incredibly passionate about and excited for this game and that they want exclusive access to every aspect of it.

In addition to what’s happening now, website viewers will also be able to go back in time to watch how the track evolved since the conclusion Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race on Aug. 21.

Viewers can choose from four different views and angles, including going from a panoramic vista to zoom in for up-close action.
