The actor known for playing the oldest brother in the “The Brady Bunch” and multiple TV movies in the 60s and 70s will sing the National Anthem for the Sept. 4 Southern 500 on NBC.
Barry Williams, aka Greg Brady, has been announced by Darlington Raceway to sing the National Anthem.
Williams, who portrayed Greg Brady on the sitcom from 1969-1974, currently is part of the “70s Music Celebration!” in Branson, Missouri.
“As a fan of NASCAR, I am honored to participate in the Bojangles’ Southern 500 throwback race at Darlington Raceway as the National Anthem performer,” Williams said in a press release. “I’ve done many performances in my career and I can’t think of a more patriotic way to celebrate an era that is so special.”

Joining Williams as part of the musical pre-race ceremonies for the 67th Southern 500 is the rock band Kansas, who will have a concert on the frontstretch.
“The Brady Bunch” premiered on Sept. 26, 1969. Twenty-five days earlier, the 19th Southern 500 was won by LeeRoy Yarbrough in a No. 98 Ford owned by Junior Johnson.
Yarbrough swept the Darlington races that year and would win 14 times in his Sprint Cup career.
