John Wes Townley has not been medically cleared to drive after suffering what the team calls a “possible concussion” and will miss his second consecutive NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, a team spokesman confirmed to NBC Sports.

Brady Boswell, 19, will drive Townley’s Athenian Motorsports ride in Wednesday night’s race at Eldroa Speedway, as Catchfence.com first reported. NASCAR on NBC analyst Parker Kligerman will drive for Townley in Friday night’s ARCA Sioux Chief PowerPEX 200 presented by Jive at Lucas Oil Raceway.

Townley is scheduled to be re-evaluated July 25. According to a team release, Townley anticipates gaining medial clearance to return to competition then.

Townley missed the July 7 Truck series race at Kentucky because of the injury. He had competed in 40 consecutive Camping World Truck Series races, dating back to 2014, before missing that event. Parker Kligerman drove for Townley at Kentucky.

Townley last drove in the June 25 Truck race at Gateway Motorsports Park. He was involved in two incidents with Spencer Gallagher. The second accident ended with them fighting. NASCAR confirmed that Townley was treated and released from the track’s care center after the second crash.

After Eldora, the series next races July 30 at Pocono Raceway.
