When does a sixth-place finisher receive a police escort and a welcome home celebration that wakes up the neighborhood?
When you’re Matt DiBenedetto and you finish sixth at Bristol Motor Speedway for the best result of your and BK Racing’s Sprint Cup careers.
Cosmo Motors, which is a sponsor for DiBenedetto’s No. 83 Toyota, posted the above video of said celebration Sunday night as the 24-year-old driver returned home from the Food City 500.
Car horns blared and confetti showered the driver as he arrived home to family and friends.
Shortly afterward, DiBenedetto registered an account on the NASCAR page on Reddit to conduct an AMA (Ask Me Anything) later in the week.
Yesterday I was so speechless I forgot to thank so many people in my interview including @ToyotaRacing! We couldn't do it without you guys!!
