Kurt Busch will start on the pole for Sunday’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway after Kyle Busch’s pole-winning effort was disallowed when he failed post-qualifying inspection. Kyle Busch will start last in the 39-car field.

Roush Fenway Racing’s Trevor Bayne (third) and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (fifth) had among their best qualifying performances. Bayne earning his best starting spot in Sprint Cup on a non-restrictor-plate track. Stenhouse qualified no better than eighth last season.

Jimmie Johnson, who won this race last year, starts 19th. No Hendrick Motorsports car qualified in the top 10. Kasey Kahne was the top Hendrick car at 11th. Ty Dillon qualified 18th, driving for injured Tony Stewart.
