Jimmie Johnson leads final Sprint Cup practice prior to Can-Am Duels

Jimmie Johnson was fastest in Thursday’s final Sprint Cup practice for the Can-Am Duels that will be held this evening at Daytona International Speedway.

Johnson had a best speed of 193.054 mph, followed by Sprint Cup rookie Brian Scott and Richard Petty Motorsports teammate Aric Almirola (both with identical speeds of 189.897 mph).

Only seven drivers took to the track for the session, the others being Ty Dillon, Ryan Newman, Kyle Larson and Michael Waltrip, the latter two shaking out back-up cars after their primary cars were damaged in a wreck in Wednesday’s practice session.
