Starting lineups for Can-Am Duel Daytona 500 qualifying races

CanAm

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Chase Elliott and Matt Kenseth each will lead the field to green in Thursday’s Can-Am Duel qualifying races for the Daytona 500.

The pair of 150-mile races will set the order for Sunday’s Daytona 500. Elliott, who will start from the pole position in his first start in the No. 24 Chevrolet, and Kenseth are locked into the top two starting spots. There are 34 other drivers who are guaranteed entry in the Daytona 500 and will be racing Thursday to determine starting positions in the Great American Race.

There are eight cars competing for the remaining four slots in the race. Ryan Blaney and Matt DiBenedetto are locked into the field already because of their qualifying speeds.

The first race will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday.
