WATCH LIVE: NASCAR AMERICA at 5:30 pm ET: Stewart update, Hendrick preview

Today’s episode of NASCAR America airs at 5:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Carolyn Manno hosts with Parker Kligerman from our Stamford (Conn.) studio. They will be joined by Kyle Petty and Nate Ryan from Burton’s Garage.

On today’s show:

· NBC Sports’ NASCAR Insider, Nate Ryan, gives us the latest on three-time Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart, who is hospitalized with a back injury following a non-racing accident on Sunday.

· As one era ends, another begins at Hendrick Motorsports. The legendary Jeff Gordon has handed over the famous No. 24 to potential superstar Chase Elliott. With the Hendrick team looking for “togetherness” after an up-and-down 2015, can Elliott help them get back to the top?

· Another Hendrick driver, Kasey Kahne, failed to make the playoffs last season. But he and his No. 5 team are confident of a turnaround in 2016. Marty Snider goes one-on-one with Kahne to find out why.
