The award ceremonies for the Camping World Truck Series and Xfinity Series were held today in Hollywood, Fla., on the first day following the end of the NASCAR season.
Part of the ceremony is the awarding of the Most Popular Driver Award for each series.
In the Truck series, the award went to John Hunter Nemechek. The son of former Sprint Cup driver Joe Nemechek competed in 18 of 23 races this season and earned his first win at Chicagoland Speedway.

In the Xfinity Series, fans voted for Chase Elliott, the 2014 series champion who followed it up with a runner-up result to Chris Buescher. Elliott won one race and will drive full time in the Sprint Cup Series next season in the No. 24 that is being vacated by the retiring Jeff Gordon.
Elliott’s father, Bill Elliott, won the Sprint Cup’s most popular driver award 16 times in his career.
