Nick O’Dell, who had served as Kyle Busch’s longtime front tire changer, will be Jeff Gordon’s front tire changer this weekend at Dover International Speedway, NASCAR Talk has learned.

Front tire changer Scott Brzozowski, who had been on Gordon’s team, moves to Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s pit crew.Brzozowski replaces Dave Mayo, who returns to a backup role. Mayo was elevated to Earnhardt’s pit crew before the Chase.

O’Dell served as a front tire changer for Busch’s team from 2008 until Sept. 22 when Joe Gibbs Racing released him for what the team called an internal matter.

Gordon is 10th in the standings heading into Sunday’s AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway, while Earnhardt is 12th - the final transfer spot. The top 12 after Sunday advance to the second round. Earnhardt leads Kyle Busch and Paul Menard by one point.
