Beginning with this weekend’s event at Michigan, Josh Wise will be behind the wheel of the No. 32 Go Green Racing Ford Fusion for the next three Sprint Cup races, according to a report by Catchfence.com.
Wise will replace Joey Gase, who was originally slated to drive in Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400. Wise will also drive in the Aug. 22 night race at Bristol and the Sept. 6 night race at Darlington.
This will be Wise’s second go-round with Go Green Racing. He failed to qualify at last month’s Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis.
“Josh can do us a good job,” team owner Archie St. Hilaire told Catchfence.com. “Indianapolis was tough for us, but we’re a team and we stick together through the good and bad.”
Wise left Premium Motorsports – formerly known as Phil Parsons Racing – by his own choice last month.
“The team and I did not share the same goals moving forward,” Wise tweeted.
Wise previously competed in eight races for St. Hilaire’s Xfinity series team in 2011.
“Without a doubt Josh can help evaluate our program and guide us in the right direction,” St. Hilaire said. “With him being in the seat more often, he would become a tremendous asset.”
Whether Wise will compete in more races for Go Green Racing after Darlington is unknown.
