The top 10 after 55 laps is: Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer, Joey Logano, Greg Biffle, Tony Stewart, Kyle Larson, Justin Allgaier and Kurt Busch.

The first caution of the race came on Lap 23 when David Gilliland lost a front tire and slammed into a tire barrier exiting Turn 10. During pits stops, AJ Allmendinger, the polesitter, was the first off pit road but eight cars chose to stay out, giving Clint Bowyer the lead for the Lap 26 restart.
