After the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series took Sunday off, it’s back to the track this weekend at Sonoma Raceway. Eleven races remain until the Chase for the Sprint Cup field is set.
Sixteen drivers will advance to the Chase. Any driver with a win while also ranking in the top 30 in points and having attempted to qualify for every race (unless granted a NASCAR waiver) will make the Chase. If the points leader does not have a win, they’ll make the Chase. If there are more than 16 different winners, ties will be broken by number of wins and then points.
With 10 different winners this season, the final six Chase spots - as of now - would go to the winless drivers with the most points.
